Good day!
I would like to ask if there are ways for a civilian applicant to enter the Philippine National Police via Lateral Entry with a Registered Criminologist PRC License?
And if there is a need to obtain trainings, what are the trainings accredited by the PNP and where do we get such trainings?
Further, what are the documentary requirements that we need to secure?

Greetings!
This pertains to your query relative to the application to the Philippine National Police by a civilian with a registered criminologist license via Lateral Entry Program.
Please be informed that a civilian with a registered criminologist license is eligible to be appointed via lateral entry pursuant to Section 36 of the Implementing Rules and Regulations of R.A.11131 known as the Philippine Criminology Profession Act of 2018 provided, he/she possess the general qualifications for appointment as provided in the existing laws on appointment of personnel in the police service. It is provided further in the said IRR that those who are already .in the police, fire, jail and other government agencies involve in national security, public safety, and criminal justice administration as non-commissioned officers and who are already registered and licensed criminologists shall be given preference for lateral entry."
In view thereof, it is advisable to a registered criminologist to enter in the Philippine National Police (PNP) via Patrolman/Patrolwoman Recruitment Program since most of the non-commissioned officers in the PNP are already registered and licensed criminologists in which shall be given preference for lateral entry when he/she satisfies the qualifications standards set forth in the existing laws on appointment into police service such as Section 33 of RA 6975, Section 14, R.A. No. 8551, NAPOLCOM Memorandum Circular No. 2021-003 and other pertinent laws, rules, and regulations, governing recruitment, selection and appointment in the government service.
Please see attached copy of the NAPOLCOM Memorandum Circular No. 2021-003, entitled “Prescribing the Guidelines and Procedures for Lateral Entry as Police Commissioned Officer”. This circular provides the general qualifications, policies and procedures in accordance with Section 33 of RA 6975, Section 36 of RA 11131 and Section 14 of RA 8551 and pursuant to Section 14, R.A. No. 8551.
