Thank you for your request dated Feb 04, 2022 10:24:12 AM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

You asked for Statistics on the Businesses and Workers Affected by Covid-19.

Your FOI request is approved.

As per our coordination with our subject matter division that handles this data, please be informed that we do not have a specific indicator
that determines the number of establishments that are closed due to
Covid-19. The conduct of the 2021 Updating of the List of Establishments (ULE), establishment units that permanently closed and those which temporarily stopped operation were tagged but the reason for closure was not part of the inquiry thus we cannot directly conclude that it was caused by the pandemic.

We only have 2021 Preliminary ULE Results that posted on our website. Please check Table 8 for the Number and Total Employment of Establishments with Permanently Closed (by Year Closed) and Temporarily Stopped Operation Status by Region, and Province: 2021 but this table provides only the number of establishments that are closed and temporarily stopped operation, but no specific causes:
