Hi! I've been ordered my PSA birth cert at sm branch and unfortunately, I received the name JELYN TABIGUE instead of JELYN TABIGUE MAGBANUA. The first name said is no longer used after my parents filed late registered of my birth cert for the reason that they're not yet married when I was born. I got my NSO that has the right information about that said concern. May I know what I need to do so that I didn't need to come personally at your office just to get my PSA birth certificate and allow me instead to get it from any branch you partnered. Thnkyou and God bless.

Dear Jelyn Magbanua,

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Jul 08, 2022 01:15:29 AM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

You asked for Birth certificate.

Your FOI request is approved.

As per policy of the PSA and under Philippine laws, the first incident of registration of an event, i.e., birth, marriage, or death, is the one considered as true and legal. Hence, the copy of the civil registry record which was registered FIRST will prevail. An entry, or entries, on a birth record cannot be corrected through the filing of the late registration of the same.

Kindly be advised that in case of multiple registrations of birth, the first or timely registration shall prevail. Hence, it invalidates all succeeding registration unless a court decision is issued stating that the first registration is canceled.

You may file a petition in court for the cancellation of the first/timely registration of birth to be able to use the second/delayed registration.

For further questions, you may call our Civil Registration Hotline at telephone numbers 8461-0500 loc 702 / 813. You may also send your concerns directly to these email addresses: crs.qvu1@psa.gov.ph,crs.qvu2@psa.gov.ph, crs.qvu3@psa.gov.ph or crs.staff2@psa.gov.ph.

We would love to hear your Feedback so we can improve our services. Kindly fill out the PSA Customer feedback form from this link: tinyurl.com/CustomerFeedbackPSA.
