Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Aug 21, 2023 10:48:46 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

Your Request

You asked for The Number of Athletes in the Philippines.

Response to Request

Your FOI request is approved. Hereunder are the information you are requesting that we have :

1.   Total athlete population in the Philippines - Please see attached total number of national training pool athletes and coaches in the Philippines.

2.  Total athlete population in the Philippines (18 years old and above) - so far we are updating our data file of athletes. We can give you an estimate of 5% are athletes below 18 years old.

3.   Total number of Professional athletes who earns money from sports in the Philippines - you may direct your request to GAB Office. They are the Agency handling professional athletes.

Your right to request a review

If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to Ms. Lorna B. Lorico, FOI Decision Maker at records@psc.gov.ph. Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response, and should be made within 15 calendar days from the date when you received this letter. We will complete the review and tell you the result within 30 calendar days from the date when we receive your review request.

If you are not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011).
