Good day.

I would like to request a statistics about athletes with mental health issues for the past 5 years. I would just like to see the numbers for my research.

You asked for Statistics of Athletes with Mental health Issues.

Response to Request

Your FOI request is approved. Hereunder are the information you are requesting. 

As of June 2023, we have the following athletes with mental heal issues

a.  Para Swimming - 3 athletes that are  Intellectually Impaired
b.  Para Athletics - 5  athlete that are intellectually impaired
c.  Boccia - 7 athletes with Cerebral Palsy
d.  CP Football - 10 athletes with Cerebral Palsy
e.  Para Table Tennis - 1 athlete that is intellectually impaired

Good day.

The data that I am referring to are the non-paralympic athletes with mental health concerns and not necessarily the serious ones (stress, anxiety, depression). An estimate or percentage based on a survey would also work. May I also know the steps PSC is taking to ensure athletes have good mental health?
