Hi, my husband is a seafarer and on vacation right now. The company was actively contributing  his SSS xoktribution while on board. Now, we want to apply for a loan. bit we were informed that we need to pay 6mos. voluntary contibution since our payment will be voluntary and this is the new policy, they said.
Pls. help us understand how can this  be fair for the  OFW? Thank you.

I understand the qualifications, but with the case of my husband as seafarer, the employer is payimg the sss contribution, but when the contract ends the contribution also stops until next contract, that's why we paid the loan voluntarily, that was the usual, but now it was changed, it is so frustrating in our part, because we really paid our dues, so that we can again get another loan, when we need it.
