Hi! I would like to request for the following information from the Philippine General Hospital:

1.) The records for triage and vital signs assessment (each patient) and another column for the decision variable which may be about the patient being admitted or not, or the triage level. Note that my study will not concern the patient's personal info.
2.) The daily number of incoming patients in the emergency department from 2012-present.
3.) The daily number of admitted patients in the emergency department from 2012-present.

These data will be subjected to machine learning techniques.

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Oct 29, 2023 04:55:07 PM under Executive Or
der No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

You asked for Records in the Emergency Department of the Philippine General Hospital.

Your FOI request is approved. The requested data is available with the Health Information Management Division (HIMD), may we request you to initially seek endorsement from the UP Manila Research Ethics Board prior to the approval of this request, intended for research purposes.  It can be accessed online through the UPMREB website (reb.upm.edu.ph).  Subsequently, you also needs to register to the Research Grants Administration Office (RGAO) via online. Once appropriate clearances have been obtained, the PGH Expanded Hospital Research Office (EHRO) will issue a permit for the request to proceed.  

For clarification and other inquiries pertaining to the conduct of research in PGH, the EHRO can be reached at telephone number 8554-8400 local 2064.  Its office is located on the second floor of UP PGH. 

If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to Dr. Jose V. Tecson III at foirc.upmanila@up.edu.ph. Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response, and should be made within 15 calendar days from the date when you received this letter. We will complete the review and tell you the result within 30 calendar days from the date when we receive your review request.

If you are not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011).
