You asked for The number of NBDB Registrants.

Response to Request

Your FOI request is approved. Regarding the list of all NBDB registrant publishers, the requestor must send a letter request to the Chairman (Dante Francis Ang II) and/or the Executive Director (Charisse Aquino-Tugade) of the NBDB if requesting for a list of NBDB registrants (publishers, author/writers, etc.). In the letter, the requestor must also cite the purpose for asking for the data. You can email your request at

How many is maximum of NBDB Registrant this year?

As of September, the total number of active registrants of NBDB for enterprises is 417 and 1,653 for individuals.


Does it require to have published book in order to register?

No. If enterprises are still newly established or new to publishing activities, instead of the list of books published last year, they can provide a signed letter or certification of no books published in the previous year with cited reason/s or justifications for non-publication activities and further information on what type of books they will publish in the future. For individual Author/Writer registrants, they can submit manuscripts of their unpublished titles with a minimum of 20 pages. 


What are the benefits of NBDB Registrant?

Enterprises and individuals duly registered with the NBDB are entitled to avail of various grants, projects, and incentives. Kindly follow the National Book Development Board's Facebook Page for updates or call for applications.


If you are not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011).
