I am an OFW working in UAE who had a vacation in the Philippines last 2022 (flown back to UAE via connecting flight cebu-dubai) , and this year 2024 ( via manila to dubai) i  brought an OEC with me for both flight but i haven't receive a tax refund during my fly back to UAE for year 2022 and recently. Can i still claim it.

Dear Ms. Kathleen Marie Tinio,

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Feb 02, 2024 10:11:18 AM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch for Tax refund.

Ms. Tinio be correctly informed that the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) is not authorized to collect any taxes from our member OFWs.

Kindly coordinate with the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) if you are requesting for a travel tax refund.  They can give the correct information if you are a legitimate migrant worker.

If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing the OWWA- FOI Decision Makers at email: foi_dm@owwa.gov.ph. Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response and should be made within FIFTEEN (15) calendar days from the date you received this letter. We will complete the review and tell you the result within THIRTY (30) calendar days from the date we received your review request.

However, if you are still not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011).
