Dear Ana Marie Cuachon,

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Oct 11, 2023 09:43:44 AM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch for Total Number of OFWs in Negros Oriental per City/Municipality specified per province as of October 2023

Be correctly informed that the data on OFWs per geographic area can be taken from the Local Government Unit's (LGU) Planning and Development Office.  Do remember that the census data emanates from the respective barangay, municipality and then consolidated by the Office of the Governor or the City Mayor.

This data is submitted to DILG on a quarterly basis and DBM for the release of budget for local programs addressed to the OFWs and their family.
Moreover, be correctly informed that the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration keeps data only of its members.  And, not all OFWs are our members.

If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing the OWWA- FOI Decision Makers at email: foi_dm@owwa.gov.ph. Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response and should be made within FIFTEEN (15) calendar days from the date you received this letter. We will complete the review and tell you the result within THIRTY (30) calendar days from the date we received your review request.

However, if you are still not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011).
