Your Request

You asked for National Average Yield and Total Production Area of Milkfish.

Response to Request

This is to formally acknowledge your request for information from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources.

Providing you the requested information. These are as follows:

1. National Average Yield of Milkfish Cage Production in 2013-2022 or National Average Yield of Overall Milkfish Production

Unfortunately, our office does not have the data for the year 2013-2022. However, we can provide the average yield of milkfish production. Based on the Philippine Milkfish Industry Roadmap (2021-2040),  the average yield in a year per kilogram, specifically for fish cages is 24,750 per 10-15 diameter and 54,450 per 18-20 diameter. The local production estimate for milkfish is in Table 20 of the said roadmap.  

2. Total Area of Milkfish Cage Production in 2013-2022 or Total Area of Overall Milkfish Aquaculture Production

Unfortunately, our office does not have information on the total production area of milkfish cages and culture. However, in the Milkfish Roadmap, an inventory of the BFAR mariculture parks has a total area of 36,234 hectares.
