Dear Jewel Cabrera,

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Dec 04, 2023 11:42:14 AM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

Your Request

You asked for List of all fishing bans issued due to MT Princess Empress oil spill.

Response to Request

This is to formally acknowledge your request for information from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources.

The Bureau has not implemented a fishing ban independently in response to the oil spill in Oriental Mindoro. Instead, we supported the ban imposed by provincial and local governments through Executive Order 17, Series of 2023. This executive order mandates the suspension of all fishing activities in the affected areas, demonstrating a collaborative approach to address the environmental impact of the oil spill.
