Dear Adrian Malolot,

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Mar 08, 2020 09:54:50 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

Your Request

You asked for LIST & SITE LOCATION OF EXISTING AND PROPOSED TELECOMMUNICATION SITES OR TOWER SITES OF REGION 10.

Response to Request

Your FOI request is approved. I enclose a copy of some of the information you requested.

Please note that we are only able to provide some of the information you have requested for.

For item 1, we may refer the person to NTC as the latter is the one regulating registration of telecommunications towers.

For items 2, we may inform the person to note that common tower is just a concept. It is still a telecommunications tower being shared by two or more mobile network providers. Hence, regulation of such is still with NTC. As of now, DICT would not want to add another layer of burden to entities or common tower providers to have their business being regulated by us. We only provide policies for its roll-out. It is also noteworthy that DICT is working with ARTA and other concerned government institutions to streamline permitting processes for telecommunications towers providers.

For item 4, we may seek clarification from the person what he meant by "Qualifications of Areas."

For item 5, only NTC can release such information as the regulator. Note that DICT has since been requesting this information from them, but for some reason, we have not gotten any response yet from them.
