Dear Maricar Hontiveros,

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Jan 15, 2024 11:29:07 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

Your Request

You asked for How many days for Bereavement Leave.

Response to Request

There is no mention of a Bereavement Leave per PD 442 otherwise known as the Labor Code of the Philippines. Instead, the Law (Article 95) provides that workers are to enjoy a 5-day Service Incentive Leave (SIL) so long as the worker has already gained a one (1) year tenure. This SIL per can be consumed at whatever purpose the entitled worker may deem - may it leaves for sickness, leaves for vacation, or leaves for bereavement.

Hope this clarifies things.
