Handling of employee caught using drugs

Requested from DOLE by H. Cabading at 01:49 PM on Jan 29, 2024.
Purpose: Reference to an incident that may arise in the future
Date of Coverage: 01/29/2024 - 01/29/2024
Tracking no: #DOLE-299309457483

Cabading 01:49 PM, Jan 29, 2024

An incident report was submitted by an employee that another employee was seen using drugs. After a positive result was drawn from the drug test, is it required to report the same to DOLE or other pertinent government agency? Also, if the drug test turns out negative, can the employer terminate the employee?
