This refers to your eFOI request received on 19 July 2023 via the eFOI portal of the Home Development Mutual Fund (Fund) wherein you are inquiring about information concerning loan application with the Fund. 

We have endorsed your concern to the Operating Unit Concerned (OUC) – the Housing Operation Support Unit (HOpS). Please find below, the following information relative to your concern, as provided by the OUC, to wit:  

1.	Is it possible to avail additional housing loan (HL) at Pag-IBIG Fund?

Yes, the member borrower with existing HL can avail of additional loan with the Fund with the following options:

a.	Additional Loan for House Construction or Home Improvement – if the borrower’s existing housing loan is for Purchase of Lot / Residential Unit; and
b.	Home Equity Appreciation Loan (HEAL) Program – The program seeks to allow existing Pag-IBIG Fund housing loan borrowers / installment buyers to avail of another loan to finance their home improvement and, other needs of the home and family.

2.	What are the possible ways to avail housing loan, if the existing house and lot is under the name of the parent?

If the house and lot is under the name of the (living) parent, the borrower may avail of a housing loan for home improvement thru a Special Power of Attorney for Accommodation Mortgage.
