Dear Mr. Gavin Dane Santos:
In reference to your request through the eFOI portal dated November 23, 2021, 7:59 PM, you have requested for the factors or considerations when computing for indemnity claims on rice crops. Listed below are some of the factors considered in the computation:
1. Stage of crop at time of loss and at time of verification,
2. Cost of production inputs,
3. Date of planting and harvest,
4. Seed variety,
5. Date of filing,
6. Insurance coverage,
7. Location Sketch Plan,
8. Area insured and area damage,
9. Cause of loss,
10. Yield loss/Percentage of damage, and
11. Indemnity factor/matrix.
In addition, you have requested for the computation for the indemnity relative to rice crop and sample data regarding an actual filing of claims for indemnity and its equivalent indemnity amount processed for insured farmers in Region III. While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance, the concerned region can only provide data, for example, on the number of farmers who filed for claim for indemnity, area damaged, indemnity amount, etc.
If you are not satisfied with this response to your FOI request, an appeal may be filed by sending an email to admin@pcic.gov.ph. Your appeal should explain the reason for dissatisfaction, and should be made within fifteen (15) calendar days from receipt of this letter. The PCIC will complete the review and notify you within thirty (30) calendar days from receipt of the appeal.
If you are not satisfied with result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011).
