Hi! I am humbly asking for help for my Mom who has Pneumonia struggling for her breath and has been battling for Covid19 for 2 weeks now. My Mom who solely raised my Brother and I for almost 3 decades now confined in a hospital and now needing a Tocilizumab and a support for Hospital Bills. She started to have fever for a week with a severe cough and felt difficult in her breathing that lasted for another week because we couldn't find any oxygen and no hospital accepts Covid positive with Pneumonia. My Mom is the breadwinner in the family. She has been devoted to her teaching job. Pls help

Dear Citizen,

This has reference to your letter received by our office through Electronic Freedom of Information (eFOI) Portal, requesting a financial aid for a single Mom with COVID and Pneumonia.

In this regard, may we inform you that based on the review and assessment conducted by the Freedom of Information (FOI) Officers, the said request has been denied on the basis that the request is not for information but rather a request for financial assistance. Executive Order No. 2, s. 2016 only applies to request of information that the government possesses and has custody of.

Further, the grant of financial assistance is not within the mandate of the agency. Nevertheless, may we recommend that the request be directed to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) which has programs that provide financial assistance for disadvantaged families.
