Hi,

I am requesting financial assistance for the unfortunate and unexpected passing of my Mother. She suffered from Cerebrovascular Accident probably bleeding, CAP-Moderate Risk, Covid Suspect, and Hypertension.

Dear MR. BALASSU:

This has reference to your letter recieved by our office through Electronic Freedom of Information (eFOI) Portal, requesting burial assistance for your mother who died from Cerebrovascular Accident, CAP-Moderate Risk, COVID suspect, and Hypertension.

In this regard, may we inform you that based on the review and assessment
conducted by the Freedom and Information (FOI) Officers, the said request has been denied on the basis that the request is not for information but rather a 
request for burial assistance. Executive Order No. 2, s. 2016 only applies to request of information that the government possesses and has custody of.

Further, the grant of burial assistance is not within the mandate of the agency.
Nevertheless, may we recommend that the request be directed to the Department of Social Welfare and Development(DSWD) which has programs that provide financial assistance for disadvantaged families.
