The long-term effects of these changes have not yet been sufficiently explored. “However, it has already been shown that when passing the blood-brain barrier nanoplastics have a behaviour-changing effect in fish,” according to the Leibnitz Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries."

Response to Request

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance this Office does not have the information you have requested. However, you may wish to contact the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) or National Fisheries Research and Development Institute (NFRDI), or resubmit your request addressed to the correct agency on the eFOI portal.
