Good day may i know if your agency has an office memorandum which states the basis of cancellation of a srrv visa, specifically if visa holder is convicted of a criminal case in the Philippines?

Dear Mr./Ms. A. Fournier:

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated 20 July 2023 under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

Your request

You asked for an office memorandum that states the basis for cancellation of SRRVisa, specifically if the visa holder is convicted of a criminal case in the Philippines.

Response to your request

Your FOI request is approved.

Please be informed that the indefinite stay privilege of being an SRRV holder will cease upon the voluntary or involuntary cancellation of the visa, as provided in the Rules and Regulations implementing E.O. No. 1037 Rule IX: Termination of Participation (please see attached).

The termination of membership from the program may be done as initiated by the retiree-member (Section 1), or may be revoked upon the recommendation of the Philippine Retirement Authority (Section 2). Section 2 provides the instances that may cause the revocation of the SRRV, i.e. discovery of fraud or misrepresentation in obtaining the Visa, or commission by the SRRV holder of any act punishable by existing laws. This “act” also includes conviction to a crime punishable under Philippine laws.

Thank you.

Respectfully,

Ruzielle M. Retoria
FOI Receiving Officer
