Your Request

You asked for the following:

1. Population of Retirees in the Philippines (Local and Foreigners)
2. Retirement Facilities in the Philippines
3. Site Criteria/ Design Guidelines for a retirement facility

Response to your request

Your FOI request is approved. The answer to your request is attached in another file, except for the following:

1. Population of Retirees in the Philippines (Local)

Please be informed that the Philippine Retirement Authority only caters to foreign retirees (foreign nationals and former Filipinos) who chose the Philippines as their retirement destination through our product, the Special Resident Retirees Visa (SRRV). This being the mandate, PRA has no data on our local retirees.

2. Retirement Facilities in the Philippines; and

3. Site Criteria/ Design Guidelines for a retirement facility

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance, this Office does not have the information you have requested.


Furthermore, statistics attached herewith is from 18 December 2010 to 18 December 2020 only. 

Your right to request a review

If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to the Department of Tourism Secretary, Ma. Esperanza Christina Garcia Frasco and sent it through their email at osec@tourism.gov.ph.
