3) Information on other proposed projects on natural gas -- power plant, pipeline, etc.

Dear Mariano Gregorio Mejia,

This is our reply to your FOI request dated January 16, 2020.  The following information was provided by Ms. Adalia L. Endaya, Manager of our Project Management Department.

1.	Current Status of BatMan1 and BatMan2 projects

BatMan1 Project is the Batangas to Manila Natural Gas Pipeline I Project.  It is currently on hold status since 2016.  PNOC decided to pursue and prioritize another project, the LNG Terminal Project.  Since these two projects complement each other, it was decided that when the pipeline is deemed needed by the LNG terminal, maybe that is the time the construction of the pipeline will be revisited.  It may or may not use the development scheme of BatMan1 since by that time, it may no longer respond to the prevailing requirements of the LNG Terminal Project.

BatMan2 is the Bataan to Manila Natural Gas Pipeline 2 Project.  It did not take off from mere project concept.  The present landscape and development along the proposed route of this project may no longer be feasible for the construction of the pipeline.  There are several new technologies already available in transporting natural gas which are both technically and financially proven effective.  PNOC is also studying this aspect.

2.	Feasibility studies of the above; 

The Feasibility Study conducted on BatMan1 is covered by a Confidentiality Agreement, and therefore, we are bound to adhere to that since there are still portions of the study that needs to be completed.

BatMan2 as discussed above remains as a project concept until this time.

3.	Other information on other proposed projects on natural gas.

May we request for specifics so we can also make a specific response since every project has its own peculiarities and requirements.
