Dear ma’am/sir,
Good Day!
I would like to kindly request for the following information:

1.	The monthly/daily/hourly/yearly average solar radiation at Cabangan, Zambales.
2.	Monthly average surface seawater and deep oceanwater temperarure at Cabangan, Zambales, or the temperature difference of the surface and deep oceanwater.

The data will be a great help for the success of our project study. Thank you very much!

Dear Sean Gyen Medrano,

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Sep 15, 2021 06:51:20 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

Your request

You asked for Average Solar Radiation and Monthly Surface Seawater and Deep Oceanwater Temp. at Cabangan, Zambales.

Response to your request

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance this Office does not have the information you have requested. This is because the focus of our agency's studies is more on ionizing radiation, namely those with higher energies in the electromagnetic spectrum such as gamma rays. However, regular solar radiation is at the lower end of the electromagnetic spectrum, and is generally not within the scope of our research.

However, you might want to try viewing some related studies via the DOST Scinet, where a cursory search into solar radiation studies may yield some results. You can visit its public access catalog here:

https://scinet.science.ph/union/index.php

Once you are able to view the studies, it may help you track any research institutions which may be conducting similar studies on solar radiation data in different parts of the country.

Lastly, to give you a better chance at finding expert opinion and data on the subject matter, we would like to refer you to another agency of the DOST, the Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD).

As for data on seawater and oceanwater temperatures, we suggest you also consult with institutions such as the University of the Philippines Marine Science Institute for further information.

For further assistance you may review the FAQ section of the eFOI site: https://www.foi.gov.ph/help.

Thank you.

Respectfully,
Hans Joshua Dantes
FOI Officer
