Your Request

You asked for Number and List of Museums in the Philippines.

Response to Request

Your FOI request is approved. For your information, in an article (https://www.arnabontempsmuseum.com/how-many-museums-are-there-in-the-philippines-2/)  published online early this year,  there are already more than 1,200 museums in the country. Since we do not have a copy of the full record of those museums, you may want to get in touch with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) , National Committee on Museums, through the Program Management Division, tel. no. +632 8527 2192 local 308.

Meanwhile, we are happy to inform you that at the moment, the National Museum of the Philippines Network continuously expands with now 25 museums, 4 of which will be opened to the public upon its completion. I enclosed an image of the NMP  Network for your reference and appreciation.

Your right to request a review

If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to <Director-General Jeremy Barns, inquiry@nationalmuseum.gov.ph>. Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response, and should be made within 15 calendar days from the date when you received this letter. We will complete the review and tell you the result within 30 calendar days from the date when we receive your review request.

If you are not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011).
