Good day!

I am a college student who availed the student discount on a PUJ. However, the jeepney driver asked me for the regular fare because it was a Saturday, and that there is no student discount on weekends. Upon reading RA 11314 Section 4, weekends are explicitly included. Would you be able to give me important information to clear this up?

You asked for a College student fare discount on weekends for PUVs, PUJs, and PUBs.

Response to Request

Your FOI request is approved. I enclose a copy of Memorandum Circular 2017-024 of the information you requested. Students are entitled to a fare discount of not less a 20% of e approved adjusted fare every day, including Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays as per MC 2017-024 



Your right to request a review
