Dear Shanthy,

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Oct 04, 2019 under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

You asked for the list of proposed biomedical research facilities.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance this Office does not have the information you have requested.

For the list of medical devices research facilities/laboratories, the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD) in particular does not have facilities on medical devices research. But in DOST we do have Electronics Product Development Center (EPDC), Advanced Device and Materials Testing Laboratory (ADMATEL) or Metals Industry Research and Development Center (MIRDC) that provide services related to the program.

PCHRD is currently supporting the project of De La Salle University- Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Health Technologies, headed by Dr. Nilo T. Bugtai. The project aims to provide calibration, testing and other services relating to the development of biomedical devices.

Moreover, we do not have access or information on manuals or guidelines on waste management of research facilities.

It is better for you to contact the research facilities directly for information.

For further assistance you may review the FAQ section of the eFOI site: https://www.foi.gov.ph/help.

If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to Secretary Fortunato Dela Peña, osec@dost.gov.ph. Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response, and should be made within 15 calendar days from the date when you received this letter. We will complete the review and tell you the result within 30 calendar days from the date when we receive your review request.

If you are not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011).

Thank you.

Respectfully,
Renzell Parino
FOI Officer
