Dear Mr. Gutierrez,

Thank you for your request dated December 23, 2023, under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch. You are requesting the number of biomedical research facilities and biomedical researchers in the Philippines.

The Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD), a sectoral council under the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), is mandated to: (1) formulate policies, plans, programs, projects, and strategies for health S&T development; (2) program and allocate government and external funds for research and development (R&D); (3) monitor R&D projects; and (4) generate external funds.

While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, we regret that our office does not have the information you have requested. Our council does not have the number of biomedical research facilities and biomedical researchers in the Philippines. We referred your request to the Department of Health (DOH).

There are different biomedical research facilities in the country depending on the specialization, below are some of them;
