Good day! We are researchers from PUP Main Branch and would like to request data on the following:

1. 500 patients (without names or personal information) with lung cancer, particularly squamous cell lung cancer, with their
- age and sex
- smoking status (active or not active)
- Exposure to secondhand smoke (yes or no)
- Occupational Exposure (Y/N)
- Family History (Y/N)
- Chronic diseases (Y/N)
- Fatigue (Y/N)
- coughing (Y/N)
- difficulty swallowing (Y/N)

2. 200 CT scan images of patients diagnosed with squamous cell lung cancer and 100 non-lung cancer patients

Dear Mark Luigi Santos,

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Nov 28, 2023 01:34:32 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

Upon coordination with our Records Division, we were informed that the following data is available:

Patients with lung cancer categorized by age and sex (number of cases would depend on the actual query)  
Some other details may be obtained in the actual review of each patient's chart upon approval from the Director.

Please be informed that prior to the approval of your request,  you are requested to comply certain requirements in order to conduct research in PGH. 
Initially, you and your team need to seek endorsement from the UP Manila Research Ethics Board.  It can be accessed online through the UPMREB website (reb.upm.edu.ph).  Subsequently, you also have to register to the Research Grants Administration Office (RGAO) via online. Once appropriate clearances have been obtained, the PGH Expanded Hospital Research Office (EHRO) will issue a permit for the request to proceed.  

For clarification and other inquiries pertaining to the conduct of research in PGH, the EHRO can be reached at telephone number 8554-8400 local 2064.  Its office is located on the second floor of UP PGH.
