Good day! I would like to request statistics on ballast water management (BWM) compliance within ships covered by MARINA MC SR 2020-05. I am looking for:

A) Tallies/counts of:
1) International BWM Certificates;
2) BWM Plans;
3) BW Record Books; and
4) Installation or modification plans for onboard BW Treatment Systems.

B) Details/records of any violations of MC SR 2020-05 within the prescribed period.

C) Any other relevant data regarding the title.

In order for us to work further on your request, we need more information from you regarding your query. We have send your request to the Shipyards Regulation Service, unfortunately, they have no data on the matter. We have forwarded your request to other concerned office of MARINA. In particular, it would be helpful to know if you would need the information in order to proceed with request. Your Request

You asked for Ballast water management compliance within Philippine-registered overseas fleet.

Response to Request

Your FOI request is approved. As of 31 December 2023, 98 Philippine registered overseas fleet have valid International Ballast Water Management Certificates issued by Recognized Organizations authorized to issue the certificate on behalf of MARINA, provided by the MARINA Regional Office (MRO) - NCR. Further, MARINA MC SR 2020-05 covers the Philippine-registered Overseas ships or ships plying the international trade. However, the said Circular does not cover domestic ships.
