Maynilad Extreme Water Interruption

Requested from MWSSCO by J. Premacio at 04:18 AM on Nov 12, 2022.
Purpose: Complaint & Development
Date of Coverage: 01/01/2022 - 11/11/2022
Tracking no: #MWSSCO-944216668313

Premacio 04:18 AM, Nov 12, 2022

Hi!

I would like to file a complaint in behalf of my community in San Nicolas II Bacoor City, Cavite.

We've been experiencing very inconvenient water interruptions from Maynilad everyday. The interruption starts at 10am and water supply resumes at 10pm as well.

This inconvenience has been on going since last year for roughly about a year. Imagine the tremendous suffering it has brought to every household in our everyday lives.

I've attempted to rectify this issue to Maynilad themselves but so far they have not given any resolution. What I got were apologies but no contingency plans.

Dear Junie Premacio,

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Nov 12, 2022 04:18:40 AM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

Your request for information on the extreme water interruption

The water supply interruptions that have been occurring are brought about by increased customer demand. To manage demand, rotational service interruptions are being implemented.

Please note that the service interruption schedule depends on a number of factors why water supply reaches certain areas only at night during periods when the supply is limited. The resumption of water supply is also affected by the increased volume of withdrawal by customers upon supply resumption. Augmentation measures such as the modular treatment plants in NIA dams: Julian and Anabu are expected to be completed this year.

We also referred your concern to MWSS Regulatory Office for their appropriate action last 14 November 2022, copy attached.

If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to the Administrator and sent to foi@mwss.gov.ph. Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response and should be made within 15 calendar days from the date when you received this letter. We will complete the review and tell you the result within 30 calendar days from the date when we receive your review request.

If you are not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011).

Thank you.

Respectfully,

Policy, Planning and Public Relations Department (PPPRD) Susanne Sta. Maria
