Hello. I wanted to clarify if the following works belong to the public domain as they are compilations of works in the public domain compiled by government agencies:

- Biblioteca Nacional de Filipinas's "Epistolario Rizalino" (1930)
- Works of the Comisión Nacional del Centenario de José Rizal in 1961, e.g., "Cartas entre Rizal y los Miembros de la Familia"
- Works of the Pambansang Komisyon ng Ikasandaang Taon ni Jose Rizal e.g., "Pakikipagsulatan ni Rizal sa Kanyang mga Kasambahay"
- Works of the National Heroes Commission e.g., "Rizal's Correspondence with Fellow Reformists"

Thank you.

MR. JAN REGGIE DELA CRUZ
Valenzuela City

Dear Mr. Dela Cruz:

This letter is in connection with your query regarding the copyright status of compilations of Rizal documents which we received through the eFOI portal on September 27, 2021.

While we consider your query not falling under the FOI, please be informed that the IPOPHL have no custody of records relating to Rizal’s documents. Furthermore, as a national government agency, the IPOPHL is not in a position to grant permission and authority to scan and upload said documents to the internet archive.

You may also consider requesting information from the National Library of the Philippines via email <copyright@nlp.gov.ph> on this matter, as they may have these documents from their rare or Filipiniana collection.

Respectfully,
EMERSON G. CUYO
