Dear RA Tacbas,

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Dec 18, 2023 08:26:56 AM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

Please be informed that at present, the Bureau has no existing guidelines in the establishment of a marine research facility. Though there is an on-going construction of a regional marine wildlife rescue center in Sarangani Province. You may wish to get in touch with DENR Region 12 on this. May I also refer you to the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) and/or Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC), Iloilo as they might be able to also assist you on this concern.

In addition, please find attached a copy of the Philippine Aquatic Wildlife Rescue and Response Manual, Series on Marine Turtles. The manual has a Chapter (Chapter 5) that discusses rehabilitation procedures on rescued marine turtles that might provide some additional information related to your thesis.

Please find also attached to this email the annual data on marine turtle conservation concerns of Bataan, as requested.
