Dear Angelo Agus,

Greetings!

Thank you for your request dated Dec 07, 2023 08:05:51 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch re request for a list of flora/endemic plants in San Mateo, Rizal.

While we appreciate your interest in studying the plants of San Mateo, we regret to inform you that a comprehensive list of known plants in the locality is not currently available. This is due to the lack of extensive studies regarding plants in this region of our country. Therefore, we are unable to provide you with the descriptions you requested.

To supplement your information on this topic, we suggest researching floristic studies conducted in nearby forests of San Mateo, such as the Upper Marikina River Basin Protected Landscape and Kaliwa Watershed Forest Reserve. Additionally, the Co’s Digital Flora of the Philippines, an online illustrated checklist of all known Philippine plants, may be a useful resource for your study. You can access it using this link: www.philippineplants.org.

Moreover, you can utilize iNaturalist as a valuable resource, where citizen scientists document wildlife in their respective regions. Follow this link for filtered data on plants recorded in San Mateo and kindly note that the majority of these plants are non-native to the Philippines: https://www.inaturalist.org/places/san-mateo-rizal-ph#page=1&taxon=47126.

Should further assistance or information on this matter be required, please feel free to reach out.

Thank you.

Respectfully,
