Good day! I would like to know if is it possible to establish a bamboo plantation within a protected landscape. The establishment of bamboo plantation will be governed by the indigenous people within their CADT area. What are the requirements for the establishment and also what are the documents that is needed to be prepared. Thank you.

Dear MR. GUZMAN,

In reference to your request, be informed that the establishment of a bamboo plantation USING INDIGENOUS SPECIES is not prohibited in protected areas under NIPAS as long as it is consistent with the Protected Area Management Plan. Further, the project proposal or development plan needs to be presented to the Protected Area Management Board for approval and issuance of PAMB Clearance. For this, you need to coordinate with the concerned Protected Area Superintendent or PASu to facilitate this.

Kind regards and Halammat.

Respectfully,

National Parks Division Decision Maker
